Here’s what you’ll do:
-source stories from around the web/social/in person

-write 3-5 posts of varying length per day

-pitch posts on breaking news, cultural analysis, SEO-drivers

-pitch and write larger stories to be paid on a project basis

-idea/copy revisions based on edits

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:
-strong ability to shift attention back and forth between different subject matter

-a wide breadth of knowledge of pop-culture and current events

-expert web research skills

-wit and incisiveness in all your writing

-clean copy

-at least two years of previous editorial writing experience

-ability to think about and articulate the story beyond the story

-unending creativity

-passion for your own ideas

It’s extra great if you:
-have CMS experience

-have beginner Photoshop experience

We prefer someone to work out of our Manhattan office, but we’re flexible on that. In addition to a day rate, we can offer gratis workspace for your non-UD weekdays, because WeWork is expensive. If you’re interested, send a resume, links to samples and your social media handles. WE WILL NOT CONSIDER YOUR APPLICATION IF YOU DON'T SEND SAMPLES. We can’t wait to hear from you(!)
